Claiming and Using Your Submarine

Board your submarine for the first time to claim ownership—only you can enter it afterward. Your name automatically displays on the side.

To move your submarine between locations, sneak and right-click it to pick it up and receive a Submarine Whistle. Use the whistle to place your submarine in any new body of water.

Inside, you'll find built-in lanterns that illuminate the dark ocean floor. The thick metal walls protect you from hostile mobs like drowned and guardians, and you won't need to breathe while piloting.

To let a friend use your submarine, pick it up and give them the whistle. They can then place and pilot it themselves.
