How to Preserve Meat and Vegetables Long-Term

Using Clay Pots and Metal Cans

Food spoilage is a constant threat in survival mode. TFC Artisanal gives you two reliable storage methods to keep your harvests fresh.

Clay Pots work best for vegetables and prepared foods. Craft a clay pot using clay, then place your cooked or raw vegetables inside. The pot must be sealed—check your inventory to confirm the lid is attached. Store the sealed pot in a cool location away from heat sources for maximum preservation time.

Metal Cans are ideal for cooked meats. Craft metal cans from sheet metal, then fill them with your prepared meat. Like clay pots, sealed cans return their lids to your inventory when opened, so you can reuse them multiple times.

Storage Tips

Both containers work better when placed in cooler biomes or underground. Avoid storing them near furnaces, campfires, or other heat sources, as temperature affects spoilage rates. Check the tooltip of your sealed container to see the remaining freshness time. Plan your harvests around your storage capacity—it's better to preserve small batches regularly than to lose everything at once.
