How to Use Cattails and Dead Grass for Wetland Builds
Finding Cattails and
Dead Grass
Cattails grow in shallow water in Terrestria's swamps and marshes. Dead Grass appears in dry, sandy, or volcanic areas. Both are simple plants you can break by hand. Cattails can be replanted on dirt or sand adjacent to water. Dead Grass can be placed on sand, dirt, or
Andisol.
Building a Wetland Scene
1. Dig a shallow pond or use an existing swamp.
2. Line the edges with Andisol or mud.
3. Plant Cattails in the water at the shoreline.
4. Scatter Dead Grass on the drier banks.
5. Add Cypress Logs and
Cypress Planks for boardwalks and docks.
6. Use
Cypress Fence and
Cypress Fence Gate around the water for a natural barrier.
Decorative Uses
Cattails add height and movement to ponds. Dead Grass gives a dry, weathered look to deserts and volcanic slopes. Combine them with
Agave and
Aloe Vera for a desert oasis. You can also use Cattails in flower pots for indoor decoration. If you are building a swamp hut, place Cattails around the stilts and use Cypress Hanging Signs for a rustic shop sign. Both plants are renewable if you replant them after harvesting.
