How to Tune Region Weights So One Biome Mod Does Not Dominate

What Region Weights Control

When several biome mods register regions through TerraBlender, each region has a weight that influences how much of the world's climate space it occupies. A mod with a very high weight can crowd out others, making the world feel like it only contains one mod's biomes. Adjusting weights lets you balance the mix without removing mods.

Finding and Editing the Settings

1. Open your instance's config folder.

2. Look for config files belonging to each biome mod, not TerraBlender itself. Region weights are owned by the mod that registers the region.

3. Search inside those files for entries named like regionWeight, weight, or priority. The exact key name varies by mod.

4. Reduce the weight of the dominant mod and/or raise the weight of the mod you want more of. Keep changes small and symmetrical — large swings can make a region vanish entirely.

5. Save the files and launch the game.

Testing Your Balance

Generate a fresh world and explore in several directions. Because regions are large, sample a wide area before judging. If a mod's biomes still dominate, lower its weight again. If a mod disappears, raise it slightly. Record your values so you can restore them after a mod update overwrites the config.
