How to Diagnose Missing Biomes After Installing TerraBlender

First Checks Before Blaming TerraBlender

TerraBlender is a library — it does not add biomes by itself. If biomes from a mod are not showing up, the problem is almost always one of: the biome mod is not installed, the biome mod is not compatible with your Minecraft version, or the biome mod failed to register its regions. TerraBlender only provides the framework.

Step-by-Step Diagnosis

1. Confirm the biome-adding mod is present in your mods folder alongside TerraBlender. TerraBlender alone generates vanilla terrain.

2. Check the game log at startup for lines mentioning region registration. Biome mods typically log which regions they injected; missing lines mean registration failed.

3. Verify the biome mod's config has not disabled its regions. Some mods ship with regions off by default or gated behind a config toggle.

4. Create a brand-new world. Biomes are chosen at world generation, so an existing world will not retroactively gain new regions in already-generated chunks.

5. Explore far from spawn — regions are large, so a short walk may not cross into a new region.

When It Is a Compatibility Issue

If two biome mods target the same Minecraft version but one was built against an older TerraBlender API, its regions may silently fail. Check each mod's stated dependencies and remove or update the mismatched one. Reading the log is the fastest way to confirm this.
