How to Make the Tech RPG Font Actually Readable at Small GUI Scales
Why the Font Looks Blurry or Thin
The Tech RPG font is a crisp, high-tech typeface, but at Minecraft's default GUI Scale it can render with thin strokes that are hard to read on lower-resolution monitors or when playing windowed. Because it is a resource pack font, it is tied to the same glyph grid as vanilla text, so scaling and anti-aliasing behave differently than a normal desktop font.
Steps to Improve Legibility
1. Open Options → Video Settings → GUI Scale and cycle through the available values. Larger GUI Scale values make each glyph physically bigger on screen, which usually resolves thin-stroke readability issues.
2. If you play fullscreen on a large monitor, try the Auto GUI Scale setting first, then manually step down one level if text feels oversized.
3. Check Options → Chat Settings → Chat Text Opacity and raise it so the font contrasts better against the world behind the chat box.
4. Turn off any other resource packs that also modify fonts, since a second font pack can override or blend glyphs and cause inconsistent rendering.
5. If you use a shader or UI mod that changes text rendering, temporarily disable it to confirm the font itself is the readable element.
Once the GUI Scale and opacity are tuned, the futuristic styling stays intact while tooltips, menus, and chat become comfortable to read during long sessions.
