How to Stop TalkBubbles From Showing Other Players' Chat
Why You Might Want This
On busy servers the bubbles can clutter your view, especially during events or in crowded spawn areas. TalkBubbles renders bubbles for any nearby player who chats, so if you only want to see your own messages — or none at all — you need to change what the mod displays rather than just ignoring chat.
Reducing or Disabling Bubbles
1. Open the TalkBubbles config file from your config folder.
2. Look for toggles that control rendering, such as an enable/disable switch or a filter for whose messages produce bubbles.
3. If a self-only or ignore-others option exists, enable it so only your own messages spawn a bubble.
4. If only a global toggle exists, turn rendering off entirely — chat still works normally, you just lose the bubbles.
5. Save, then relaunch and confirm with a nearby friend.
Server-Side vs Client-Side
Bubble rendering happens on each player's own client, so your config changes affect only what you see. You cannot hide bubbles for other players by editing your file, and an operator cannot force a global off switch unless the mod provides a server config. If you are an admin wanting to reduce clutter server-wide, check whether a server-side config exists; otherwise ask players to adjust their own settings. Note that disabling bubbles does not affect the chat log, so you never lose message history by turning rendering off.
