How to Find Hidden Mobs Using the Sound Visualizer
Reading the Overlay
When a mob makes a noise, the mod draws a visual cue at the sound's origin rather than only playing audio. Watch for these cues appearing at the edges of your screen or behind walls. The cue points toward the source, so rotate your camera until the indicator sits in the center of your view — that direction is where the mob is.
Tracking a Mob Step by Step
1. Stand still and listen for repeated sounds (footsteps, idle vocalizations, or digging).
2. Note which direction the cue appears from and turn toward it.
3. Move a few blocks and pause. If the cue moves with you consistently, you are closing in; if it shifts behind you, turn around.
4. Check vertical position too — many mobs hide in caves below or on ledges above. If the cue stays centered but you see nothing, dig down or pillar up.
5. Combine with a light source or a quick block placement to flush the mob out once you are close.
Tips for Noisy Environments
In caves or near machines, isolate one sound at a time. Mute or pause nearby contraptions so their cues do not overlap with the mob you are hunting. This makes the direction indicator far easier to read.
