Fixing Mushrooms That Keep Disappearing or Won't Stay Placed

First Checks

If a mushroom vanishes shortly after you place it, the mod is probably not loaded or not active in that world. Confirm the mod is present in your mod list and that you launched the correct profile. If it is missing, mushrooms will behave exactly like vanilla and pop in bright light.

Placement Problems

1. Wrong block underneath. Mushrooms need a solid, full top face. They will not stay on glass, fences, slabs, stairs, or other non-full blocks. Move them to dirt, grass, podzol, mycelium, or stone.

2. Block occupied. If another plant, snow layer, or carpet is already on the target block, remove it first.

3. Wrong click target. Right-click the top face of the block, not the side. Clicking a side may place the mushroom on an adjacent block or fail entirely.

4. Water and lava. Flowing fluids will wash mushrooms away. Keep them out of water streams unless you want them moved.

If They Still Vanish

  • Check for pistons, dispensers, or other redstone devices nearby that might be pushing or breaking blocks.
  • Confirm no player or mob is trampling the area.
  • Try placing a single test mushroom in an open, flat area with nothing around it. If that one stays, the issue is environmental rather than the mod.
  • If the test mushroom also disappears, the mod is likely not applying in that dimension or world, so verify your installation.
