Troubleshooting Texture Glitches and Missing Textures
Common Texture Issues
Occasionally, blocks or items may display incorrectly—appearing as purple-and-black checkerboards, showing wrong colors, or displaying as solid blocks. This usually indicates a conflict or loading error.
Fixing Missing or Broken Textures
1. Reload the pack: Exit to the main menu, go to Resource Packs, disable Summit, then re-enable it
2. Clear cache: Delete the shaderpacks and resourcepacks cache folders (usually in .minecraft), then restart Minecraft
3. Check mod conflicts: If using other mods or resource packs, temporarily disable them to isolate the issue
4. Verify file integrity: Ensure Summit was downloaded completely and not corrupted
5. Update your graphics drivers: Outdated drivers can cause texture rendering problems
Persistent Issues
If problems continue after reloading:
- Try allocating more RAM to Minecraft (typically 4-6GB helps)
- Lower your render distance temporarily
- Disable any shader packs that might conflict with Summit's lighting
Most texture glitches resolve after a full game restart. If issues persist across multiple sessions, consider reinstalling Summit.
