Find and Catch Biome-Specific Fish
Understanding Biome Fishing
Fishing is no longer a one-location activity. Different fish species spawn only in specific biomes—salmon live in rivers, for example. You must travel to the right biome to catch what you're looking for.
Locating Fish
Identify your target fish, then navigate to its native biome. Rivers are a good starting point for salmon. Swamps, oceans, and other water-filled biomes each have their own catches. Bring your fishing rod and patience.
Catching and Cooking
Once caught, you can cook your fish over a
campfire (remember to light it first) or a furnace. Fresh
calamari is one of the new foods available after a successful fishing trip.
Exploration Benefit
This mechanic encourages you to explore and map out your world. Keep notes on which biomes have which fish, and plan supply runs accordingly. It transforms fishing from a static activity into a reason to venture into new terrain.
