Finding and Mining in Biome-Specific Cave Systems

Understand Cave Biome Variation

Caves in this mod change based on the biome above ground. Desert biomes generate sandstone-heavy caves, while other regions produce standard stone formations. Frosted biomes create icy underground areas with glaciers. This means your mining strategy should adapt to your location.

Locating Biome-Specific Resources

1. Travel to different surface biomes and descend into caves below them

2. In desert regions, expect sandstone near the surface and deep sandstone at lower levels—useful for building or specific crafting needs

3. In cold biomes, look for frosted caves and massive underground glaciers filled with ice blocks

4. In temperate areas, find natural cobblestone patches mixed throughout normal stone

Mining Efficiently

Bring appropriate tools for each cave type. Sandstone caves require different mining approaches than standard stone. Frosted caves may have slippery surfaces due to ice, so plan your footing carefully. The natural stone formations (stalagmites and stalactites) are decorative but mineable—harvest them if you need building materials, or leave them for atmosphere.
