Customizing Cave Generation with Config Settings
Accessing the Configuration File
The mod includes a config file that controls how underground generation works. This allows you to adjust cave features to match your playstyle.
1. Locate the mod's config folder (typically in your .minecraft/config directory)
2. Find the Subterranean Expansion configuration file
3. Open it with a text editor
Common Adjustments
You can modify:
- Frequency of stalagmites and stalactites in different stone types
- Size and frequency of frosted caves and glaciers
- How often cobblestone patches appear in normal caves
- Whether biome-specific cave features generate at all
Applying Changes
After editing the config file, save it and restart your world or server. Changes take effect on newly generated chunks, so existing caves remain unchanged. Experiment with different settings to find the balance between visual interest and performance that works for your setup.
