How to Change How Often Structures Spawn with Spacing and Separation
What spacing and separation actually do
Every structure has a placement grid. Spacing is the average distance between attempts, and separation is the minimum gap enforced between two instances. Raising spacing makes structures rarer; raising separation pushes them further apart even when they do spawn. Lowering both makes the world feel crowded.
Editing globally vs per structure
Structurify lets you change these values in two places. The global setting applies a multiplier or override to every structure at once — useful when you want a uniformly sparser or denser world. The per-structure setting overrides the global value for that one entry, so you can keep villages common while making woodland mansions extremely rare.
Step by step
1. Open the config and locate the structure or the global placement section.
2. Adjust spacing first, then separation. Keep separation lower than spacing or the game may fail to place the structure at all.
3. Save, reload, and generate new chunks to test.
4. If a structure never appears, your separation is likely too close to or above your spacing value.
Notes
- Changes never affect already-generated chunks.
- Very small spacing values can cause overlapping or clipped structures.
- Test with a fresh world and a short flight before applying the values to a long-term save.
