How to Find and Enter the Stronghold Portal Chamber

Locating the Stronghold

With the overhaul installed, strongholds generate with a much larger, more structured layout than vanilla. Use Eyes of Ender as usual to triangulate the stronghold's position, then dig down or find a surface entrance. Because the overhaul adds surface rooms, you may spot stone brick structures poking out of terrain before you ever dig.

Reaching the Portal Chamber

The Portal Chamber is the central hub that connects to every other sub-stronghold type. From your entry point, look for the Lobby Complex first — it is described as the heart of the stronghold and contains the portal room along with the sewer, staircase, and deepslate complexes. Follow the widest, most decorated corridors; these tend to lead toward the hub rather than dead-end side rooms.

Once inside the Portal Chamber, note which exits you came from. The chamber links to the Jail Complex and Library Complex in addition to the Lobby, so it doubles as a navigation landmark. Place torches or blocks at each doorway so you can tell the passages apart on the way back. The End Portal frame itself sits within this hub area, so filling the frames with Eyes of Ender here is your end goal.
