How to Explore the Jail and Library Complexes

Where These Complexes Sit

Both the Jail Complex and the Library Complex connect directly to the Portal Chamber rather than to the Lobby. That means once you reach the central hub, you can branch into either of these themed sections without passing back through the Lobby.

Exploring the Jail Complex

The Jail Complex contains jail room types — cell-like rooms arranged off its corridors. Expect narrow passages and small enclosed spaces. Search cells thoroughly, since loot in overhauled strongholds is often tucked into side rooms rather than main hallways. Mark the entrance from the Portal Chamber clearly, because jail corridors can look repetitive.

Exploring the Library Complex

The Library Complex branches off the Portal Chamber as well and contains library room types. These are the rooms most worth looting for books and paper. Because the overhaul adds many new room variants, don't assume a library room looks like the vanilla one — check shelves, corners, and any upper or lower levels.

General Tips

  • Always return to the Portal Chamber to reorient; it is the shared connection point for both complexes.
  • Light every room you enter to prevent mob spawns in the larger layout.
  • Carry spare blocks to bridge gaps or block off passages you have already cleared.
