Craft Roofing with Shingles and Slabs
Select Shingle Blocks
Stoneworks includes shingle variations for most stone types, perfect for creating detailed roof textures. Use the stonecutter to cut shingles from your chosen stone. Shingles are smaller blocks that layer well and create authentic roofing appearance.
Layer Your Roof
Start at the bottom edge of your roof and place shingles in overlapping rows, working upward. Each row should slightly overlap the row below it, mimicking real roof construction. This creates both visual appeal and the impression of proper water drainage.
Combine with Slabs and Stairs
Use matching slabs along roof edges for a clean finish. Stairs can create peaked roof sections or decorative roof ridges. Mix shingle types—such as regular and cobbled variants of the same stone—to add texture and visual interest to large roof areas.
Finishing Touches
Add chimneys, dormers, or roof details using pillars and tiles. The variety of stone variations available means you can create complex, realistic roofing without needing multiple mods or workarounds.
