Craft and Use Steel Tools and Armor

Obtaining Steel

Steel is the mod's primary crafting material and must be smelted or obtained through crafting. Gather iron ore and coal, then smelt iron ingots in a furnace. Combine iron with other materials (check your crafting table for the exact recipe) to create steel ingots.

Crafting Steel Gear

Once you have steel ingots, use a crafting table to create:

• Armor pieces: helmet, chestplate, leggings, and boots
• Tools: pickaxe, axe, shovel, and hoe
• Weapons: sword and hammer

Steel tools are more durable than diamond and mine faster, making them ideal for deep mining and large-scale building projects.

Using Steel Equipment

Steel armor provides strong protection comparable to diamond tier. Steel tools maintain their durability longer during extended mining sessions. The steel hammer is particularly effective for breaking stone and ore blocks in bulk, while the steel sword deals increased damage in combat.

Craft multiple tools since they will eventually wear out—keep spare ingots in your inventory for repairs using an anvil.
