Setting Up Your First Railway Line

Gathering Materials

Begin by collecting copper and iron from your world. You'll need these to craft basic track pieces and rail components. Visit a crafting station or use the Create mod's mechanical crafters for efficiency.

Laying Track

1. Place your first track block on solid ground

2. Continue placing track pieces in your desired direction—tracks will connect automatically

3. Use the Track Switch block at junctions to create branch points where trains can change direction

4. Ensure your track is supported; tracks need solid blocks beneath them or support structures

Testing Your Line

Once your basic line is complete, place a train on the track. Use the conductor controls to test acceleration and braking. Check that all curves and switches function properly before expanding. If your train derails, verify that track pieces are aligned and that no gaps exist in the line.

Expanding

As you grow comfortable, add more complex track types from the mod's inventory. Experiment with inclines and curves to create more interesting routes. Always test sections before connecting them to your main network.
