Hiding Effectively in Different Environments
Tall Grass and Crawling
Tall grass is your best friend for daytime stealth. When you crouch in tall grass, you become nearly invisible to mobs—the tall grass blocks line of sight. For even better concealment, you can crawl through short grass, which reduces your profile further and minimizes noise.
Dark Areas and Night
Darkness significantly reduces your visibility. Mobs have much harder times spotting you in caves, at night, or under heavy tree cover. However, darkness alone isn't foolproof—if a mob gets close enough or you make sudden movements, you'll still be detected.
Combining Techniques
The most effective hiding combines multiple factors: crouch in tall grass at night, or hide in a dark cave while standing still. Avoid moving quickly between hiding spots. If you must move, crouch and move slowly to minimize noise and visibility changes. Remember that proximity still matters—getting too close to a mob will alert them regardless of darkness or cover.
