Adjusting the Timer Display to Suit Your HUD

Find the Mod's Options

Open the mod's configuration through your usual mod menu or config screen. Look for settings that control how the timer text is drawn on the icons — options typically cover whether the timer shows at all, how the text is styled, and where it sits relative to the icon.

Tune It to Your Setup

Depending on your screen resolution and GUI scale, the timer text can look cramped or overlap the icon art. Try these adjustments:

1. Change your GUI scale in the video settings and watch how the timer reads — a larger scale often makes the numbers clearer.

2. Toggle the timer on and off in the mod's config to confirm it is the source of what you see.

3. Reposition or restyle if the mod offers placement or color options, so the text sits where it does not clash with other HUD elements.

4. Compare with vanilla tooltips. Hover an effect icon to see the full description; the on-icon timer is meant to complement that, not replace it.

When to Leave It Alone

If your HUD is already crowded, keeping the timer minimal — just the countdown, no extra styling — usually reads best. Test with a couple of active effects and settle on the setting that lets you read the remaining time at a glance without covering the icon.
