How to Change the Immortality Duration in StartInv
The default window of invincibility is short, and depending on your world or server, you may want it longer or shorter. StartInv exposes its duration as a configurable value, so you can tune it to your setup without touching code.
Finding the Config File
StartInv stores its settings in a config file inside your Minecraft instance's config folder. Look for a file named after the mod (typically startinv with a .toml or .json extension, depending on the loader). Open it with any plain text editor.
Inside you will find a single duration entry, usually expressed in seconds. Change the number to whatever you want. Keep in mind the value is in seconds, not ticks, so a small number goes a long way.
Applying the Change
1. Save the file and close it.
2. Restart Minecraft completely — config values are read at startup, so a world reload alone will not apply them.
3. Enter a world and confirm the new window feels right. If it is too long, lower it and restart again.
On a server, edit the same file on the server side. The server's value governs players, so clients do not need to match it.
