How to Give Starter Kits to New Players on a Server

How Detection Works

The mod tracks which players have joined before. On a server, this means every genuinely new player receives the configured kit automatically the first time they log in. You do not need to run any command per player — just configure the kit once and the mod handles the rest.

1. Configure your kit using /starterkit set or by editing the config file.

2. Confirm the config is in place on the server, not just your client.

3. Have a test player join for the first time to verify the kit is delivered.

Handling Players Who Joined Before the Mod

If players already played on your server before you installed the mod, the mod will not overwrite their existing inventories. Instead, it only applies the kit when their inventory is completely empty and they log in near the spawn point for the first time after installation. This prevents veterans from losing their gear. Keep this in mind when testing: a returning player with items will not receive the kit, which is intended behavior. If you want to grant a kit to an existing player manually, have them empty their inventory and log in near spawn, or clear their player data so the mod treats them as new.
