How to Find and Catch Rare Fish Species

Where Rare Fish Live

Rare species in this mod are tied to specific conditions rather than appearing everywhere. Expect certain fish to require particular biomes, times of day, weather, or water types. For example, storm-themed fish such as the Storm Tarpon are associated with rainy weather, while others like the Blazing Oarfish or Demon Gar suggest extreme environments. Check each fish's requirements before committing to a long session.

Preparing Your Rod

Bring a rod with a bobber suited to hard fights. The Cork Bobber widens your control bar, and the Trap Bobber softens the drain when you slip, both of which matter against fast, jumpy rare fish. The Sonar Bobber is invaluable here: it tells you what bit so you can release junk catches and save time.

Farming a Target Species

Cast repeatedly; when the Sonar Bobber confirms your target, focus on the minigame and use steady taps rather than holding. Once caught, place it in a Fish Display to track which rare species you still need. Rotate locations as conditions change to keep encountering new species.
