How to Complete Your Fish Catalogue
Understanding Catalogue Requirements
The catalogue book tracks every fish species in the mod. Each entry shows the specific conditions needed to catch that fish—biome, weather, time of day, and season (if using season mods). Fish won't spawn unless those conditions are met, so planning your fishing trips is essential.
Systematic Hunting Strategy
Start by reading your catalogue to identify which fish are available in your current location and conditions. Fish are restricted by biome, so you'll need to travel to different environments: oceans, rivers, swamps, caves, and more.
Check the time of day and weather requirements. Some fish only appear at night, during rain, or in specific seasons if you have season mods installed. Plan multiple trips to the same biome at different times.
Tracking Progress
As you catch each species, your catalogue updates automatically. The book shows which fish you've caught and which remain undiscovered. Focus on rare or difficult fish last—these often require specific weather or biome combinations that may take patience to encounter naturally.
Use your catalogue as a checklist. Mark mentally which biomes you haven't fully explored, and return to them under different conditions. Some fish may only appear during rare weather events, so keep fishing in promising locations.
