Getting Started with Your First Horse

Finding and Taming a Horse

Horses spawn naturally in plains and meadow biomes. Approach one and right-click to mount it. Unlike vanilla horses, Star Worm horses have unique personalities and require bonding before they'll respond well to commands.

Building Trust Through Bonding

Bonding is essential for a responsive mount. Spend time near your horse, feed it regularly using appropriate food items, and ensure it has access to water via troughs or buckets. As your bond strengthens, the horse will become more obedient and perform better during riding.

You can check your bonding level by looking at the horse's status. Higher bonding unlocks better performance in gaits and responsiveness to your controls. Different horses may bond at different rates—some are naturally friendlier than others.

First Tack Setup

Once bonded, equip basic tack to improve control and comfort. Start with a simple bridle and saddle. These can be crafted or found, then applied by right-clicking your horse while holding the item. Properly equipped horses handle better and allow you to use all available gaits smoothly.
