How to Build a Creeper-Proof Base Against Stalker Creepers

Design Principles

The goal is to remove hiding spots and approach routes, not just to make walls thick.

Construction Steps

1. Clear a buffer zone around your base. Remove trees, tall grass, and any blocks a creeper could hide behind within a few chunks of your walls.

2. Light the entire buffer zone with torches, lanterns, or glowstone. Bright, open ground makes stalking much harder.

3. Build walls at least two blocks high with no gaps. Stalker Creepers can't climb, but they can path around corners, so avoid L-shaped walls that create blind spots.

4. Use a double-door entry or a piston door. A single wooden door is fine, but make sure the area outside it is well-lit so you can see what's waiting.

5. Add a moat or a one-block-deep trench around the perimeter. Creepers can't jump it, and it forces them into the open where you can spot them.

6. Keep your roof and upper floors lit too. Stalker Creepers can spawn on roofs if it's dark enough.

Maintenance

Every few in-game days, walk your perimeter and re-check lighting. A single unlit corner is all a stalker needs to set up an ambush.
