Maximize Chest Storage with Stacked Blocks
Identify High-Volume Materials
Look at your chests and identify blocks you store in large quantities—stone, logs, dirt, sand, or netherrack are prime candidates. These materials benefit most from compression since you typically need many of them for building projects.
Convert Existing Inventory
Gather groups of eight identical blocks from your chests. Craft each group into a stacked block using lead ingots. A single chest can now hold significantly more compressed materials than loose blocks.
Organize by Stack Type
Create a dedicated storage system where each chest or section holds stacked blocks of one material type. Label chests clearly so you know which stacks contain which blocks. This prevents confusion when you need to retrieve specific materials.
Calculate Your Gains
With stacked blocks, a single chest can store up to 13,824 items worth of compressed blocks. This is especially useful for large building projects where you need thousands of blocks but limited inventory space.
