Decide Which Blocks Are Worth Stacking

Best Candidates for Stacking

Stack blocks that you collect and store in large quantities: stone variants, logs, dirt, sand, gravel, netherrack, and other common building materials. These materials take up significant chest space and benefit most from compression.

Blocks to Skip

Avoid stacking rare or single-use blocks like ores, crafting materials, or decorative blocks you only need a few of. Stacking these wastes lead ingots and inventory slots. Similarly, don't stack blocks you need quick access to during active building.

Lead Efficiency

Since each stacked block requires one lead ingot, consider your lead supply. If lead is scarce in your world, prioritize stacking only your most abundant materials. Once you have a reliable lead farm, you can stack more freely.

Practical Rule

If you have more than 64 of a block type in storage, it's worth stacking. If you have fewer than 8, leave it unstacked. This keeps your storage organized and your lead usage efficient.
