Using Splash and Lingering Potions Without Triggering the Cooldown

Why the Cooldown Exists

Stackable Potions adds a short use cooldown to splash and lingering potions so you cannot spam-throw an entire stack instantly. This keeps thrown potions balanced while still letting you carry many of them. The cooldown applies per throw, not per stack, so you can keep the whole stack in one slot.

Timing Your Throws

1. Aim and throw your first splash potion as normal.

2. Watch your hotbar — the potion icon briefly greys out or shows a sweep animation while the cooldown runs.

3.

4. For lingering potions, throw one to create the cloud, then use the cooldown window to reposition or switch items.

Combat and Support Tactics

  • Against groups, throw one splash potion of Harming, then use the cooldown gap to land a melee hit before throwing the next.
  • For healing allies, alternate throws between two players rather than dumping the whole stack at once.
  • Lingering potions are best used to zone enemies — drop one cloud, back off during the cooldown, then drop another to extend the area.
  • Do not panic if a throw seems to do nothing; you likely pressed the button during the cooldown. Simply throw again once the icon clears.
