Getting Started with Magic and Shapeshifting

Unlocking Forms and Managing Mana

SSC Xu Addon adds seven new creature forms to the Shape Shifter Curse mod, each unlocked by holding a specific gem or essence while in a base animal form. For example, use a blood gem while in feral bat form to become a Vampire Bat.

Combat revolves around a mana system. Press Active Key 2 to toggle between mana levels—higher levels deal more magic damage but drain mana faster. Monitor your mana bar; reaching zero triggers exhaustion, blocking all magic until recovery begins.

Press Active Key 1 to cast spells like Fire Ball, Blood Thorn, or Blood Step. Each costs different amounts of mana. Hold special gems in your hand for passive buffs like speed or water breathing. Use a Stable Holy Golden Apple to safely return to human form, or hold Undead Essence in your off-hand as a one-time shield against fatal damage.
