How to Fix the Spyglass Not Zooming or Keybinds Not Working

First checks

If your spyglass does nothing after installing the mod, work through these in order before assuming a bug.

1. Confirm the mod loaded. Open the Mods list and verify Spyglass Improvements appears and is enabled. A missing dependency (such as a config or keybind library) will silently disable features.

2. Check keybind conflicts. Go to Options → Controls → Key Binds and look for red or duplicate entries. If another mod or vanilla has claimed the same key, reassign the spyglass key.

3. Verify requirements. Quick-access zoom may need a spyglass somewhere in your inventory, not just in a chest. Put one in your hotbar or offhand and try again.

Config problems

• Open the mod's config and make sure zoom isn't disabled and the multiplier isn't set to a value that looks like no zoom at all.
• If you recently changed mods or updated, delete the mod's config file so it regenerates with defaults, then re-tune it.

Conflicts with other zoom mods

Zoom mods frequently fight over the same camera/FOV hooks. If you run another zoom or optifine-style mod, disable one of them and test. Two zoom handlers active at once often results in no zoom or a frozen FOV.

Last resort

Test in a fresh world with only this mod and its dependencies. If it works there, re-enable your other mods one at a time to find the culprit.
