How to Enable and Read the Spyglass Overlay (Coordinates, Info)
What the overlay does
Spyglass Improvements can draw extra information on screen while you're zoomed in — things like coordinates, biome, light level, or a crosshair-style reticle. This is handy for mapping terrain, spotting structures, or navigating without opening the F3 debug screen.
Turning the overlay on
1. Open the mod's config screen from the Mods list.
2. Find the Overlay section. Toggle the master overlay switch on.
3. Enable the individual elements you want — for example coordinates, direction/facing, or biome name. Each is usually a separate checkbox.
4. If there's a position or alignment option, choose where the text sits (corners or center) so it doesn't block what you're looking at.
5. Save. Activate the spyglass and the overlay should appear.
Reading it in practice
- Use the coordinates readout to note landmark positions while scouting from a hill or tower.
- The facing indicator helps you keep a straight line when travelling toward a distant target.
- If the overlay is hard to read against bright terrain, look for a background-opacity or text-shadow option in the same config section.
If nothing shows
Make sure the overlay is only drawn while zoomed (that's intended), and check that you didn't disable it with a separate toggle keybind.
