How to Process Cinnabar and Magnetite into Useful Materials

Cinnabar and magnetite are two of Spelunkery's signature underground materials, and both need processing before they become useful. If you have mined the raw blocks and are staring at them wondering what to do, this is the chain.

Cinnabar

You will find Cinnabar, Cinnabar Shard, Block of Cinnabar, and Block of Rough Cinnabar. Rough cinnabar is the unrefined form — process it to get the usable Cinnabar and Cinnabar Shard items. Shards are the smaller unit, so expect a rough block to break down into multiple shards rather than one lump. Store shards separately from full cinnabar so you do not lose track of what you have.

Magnetite

Magnetite appears as Block of Raw Magnetite. Like other raw ore blocks, it needs to be processed (smelting or an equivalent step) to yield usable magnetite material. Break the raw block down first if you want to process it in smaller batches.

General tips

1. Set up a dedicated processing chest next to your furnace array.

2. Keep rough and refined forms in separate chests to avoid mixing them.

3. Process in bulk — running one shard at a time wastes fuel.

Once refined, both materials feed into the mod's other crafting chains, so process everything you mine rather than letting raw blocks pile up.
