How to Deal with Dust Bunnies and Tangle Roots Underground

Spelunkery adds hazards alongside its ores, and two you will meet early are the Dust Bunny mob and the Bramble of Tangle Roots. Neither is a boss fight, but both can ruin a mining trip if you are not ready.

Dust Bunnies

Dust Bunnies are the mod's signature mob. They are small and easy to overlook in a dark tunnel, which is exactly the problem — you will often notice them only when they are already on you. The practical counter is light: keep your tunnels lit with glowsticks so you see them coming, and clear them out before they cluster. Do not let a group build up in a side branch you plan to mine later.

Bramble of Tangle Roots

This block grows underground and tangles up your movement. If you are trying to run from something or navigate a tight shaft, hitting a bramble slows you down badly.

1. Carry a hoe or axe to clear brambles quickly.

2. Clear them along your main path, not just where you are currently standing.

3. Do not build your base entrance through a bramble patch.

Treat both as maintenance tasks: light your caves, clear your routes, and neither will catch you off guard.
