Understanding Comparator Modes
Redstone comparators now display distinct visual differences between their operating modes, making it easier to troubleshoot redstone circuits at a glance.
Viewing State Changes
1. Place a
redstone comparator on the ground
2. Right-click the comparator to cycle through its modes
3. Observe the front
torch position:
- Normal mode: torch in standard position
- Subtract mode: torch visibly shifts to indicate subtraction behavior
4. Power the comparator with
redstone dust or a redstone source to see the powered state activate
5. Watch how the torch responds differently depending on the input signal strength
Other Enhanced Components
Activator rails also receive visual updates showing their powered and unpowered states more clearly. When powered, the
rail mechanism appears raised and active. Place rails on flat ground and on slopes to see how the 3D model adjusts to terrain orientation.
These visual enhancements help you verify circuit logic without needing to test with items or signals—the model itself confirms the comparator's current mode and power state.
