How to Make Sounds Dynamic Based on Item or Block Type

What dynamic sounds mean

Sounds Mod can decide which sound to play by inspecting what you are holding or what you are interacting with. Instead of one generic click for every block, a stone block, a wooden plank, and a metal block can each produce a fitting sound. This is the core feature that makes the mod feel like an overhaul rather than a single sound swap.

Configuring the mapping

Open the configuration screen and find the category that governs block or item interactions. Entries there are grouped by material or type. To change how a group sounds, select it and adjust its volume and pitch, or disable it entirely. If a particular material sounds wrong to you, lower its pitch or reduce its volume rather than turning the whole category off, so the rest of your blocks keep their improved audio.

Testing your setup

After changing a group, leave the config and walk around your base. Place and break a few blocks of the material you edited, and swing the matching tool. Because the mod resolves the sound at the moment of the action, you will hear the result instantly with no reload needed. If two categories overlap, the more specific one usually wins, so check the narrower entry first when a sound does not change as expected.
