How to Disable Specific Sounds You Find Annoying

Find the right entry

The fastest way to silence an irritating sound is to open the mod's configuration screen and browse the category it belongs to. Sounds are grouped, so a footstep or interaction noise will sit under the relevant group rather than in one giant list. Read the entry labels; they describe the action or material the sound is tied to.

Turn it off cleanly

Once you locate the entry, use its toggle to disable it. Prefer disabling the narrowest entry that covers the sound you dislike. If you disable a broad category, you will lose several related sounds at once, which is rarely what you want. If the sound is only too loud rather than unwanted, drag its volume down instead of toggling it off, so you keep the feedback without the annoyance.

When you cannot find it

Some sounds are dynamic and inherit from a parent rule, so the entry you are looking for may be named after a material or item type rather than the exact action. Check the parent group and adjust it there. If you are unsure which group a sound belongs to, temporarily disable a likely category, test in-game, and re-enable it if nothing changed. Changes save automatically, so you can experiment freely and revert anything that does not help.
