How to Put a Sophisticated Storage Barrel Inside a Boat

Crafting the Boat with Storage

Sophisticated Storage In Motion adds combined items that pair a storage block with a vehicle. To get a boat that carries inventory, you combine a vanilla boat with a Sophisticated Storage block (such as a barrel, chest, or limited barrel variant) at a crafting table. The resulting item is listed on the wiki as "%s Boat with %s" — the first placeholder is the boat type (oak, spruce, etc.) and the second is the storage block you used.

Place the boat-with-storage item on water like any normal boat. When you right-click it, you open the storage block's interface instead of just boarding. This means you can sort, search, and use upgrade slots exactly as you would on a placed barrel.

Using It While Traveling

• Right-click the boat to open storage; shift-right-click or use the normal board key to actually ride it.
• While riding, you can still access the inventory through the same interaction, so you can pull out food, tools, or blocks mid-journey.
• The storage block keeps its upgrades (stack upgrades, void upgrades, etc.) because it is the same block type, just mounted.
• Breaking the boat returns the storage block and boat materials, so nothing is lost.

This is ideal for long ocean trips where you want a mobile base without building a full ship mod.
