Troubleshoot Items Not Being Pulled from Your Backpack

Why Items Aren't Transferring

If clicking the plus button doesn't pull ingredients from your backpack, check these common issues.

Verification Checklist

1. Confirm the backpack is equipped — The upgrade only works with backpacks in your armor slot, offhand, or main hand. Backpacks in your inventory won't be scanned.

2. Check the upgrade is installed — Open your backpack's GUI and verify the JEI Index Upgrade is in the upgrade slot, not just sitting in the backpack's storage.

3. Verify you have the ingredients — The mod won't pull items that don't exist. Check your backpack and normal inventory for the recipe materials.

4. Ensure the crafting interface supports recipe transfer — Not all crafting screens work with JEI recipe clicking. Use a standard crafting table, workbench, or compatible terminal.

5. Remember nested bags are skipped — If you've placed a backpack inside another backpack, the mod won't search it. Only equipped backpacks are scanned.

6. Check storage network connections — If using AE2, Refined Storage, or similar mods, make sure your terminal is properly connected to your system.

If items still won't transfer, try clicking the plus button again or reloading your world.
