How to Clean Soot from Chimneys
Understanding Soot Buildup
Over time, your chimneys will accumulate soot and become visibly dirty. This is a natural cosmetic effect that darkens the chimney's appearance. The soot doesn't affect smoke emission—it's purely visual.
Cleaning Process
To remove soot:
1. Equip an axe (any material works)
2. Right-click on the sooty chimney block
3. The soot will be scraped away, restoring the chimney's clean appearance
Getting Black Dye
When you scrape soot from a chimney, there's a chance it will drop Black Dye. This drop isn't guaranteed every time, so you may need to clean multiple chimneys to collect dye. This provides a renewable source of black dye if you maintain several chimneys.
Maintenance
Chimneys will gradually accumulate soot again over time, so periodic cleaning keeps your structures looking maintained and fresh.
