Navigate the Extreme Heat and Lightning on Day 60+

Understand Elevation-Based Burning

On Day 60+, burning expands based on your Y-level (altitude). Higher elevations burn more intensely and for longer. The safest zones are deep underground. Avoid building or working at high elevations during this phase.

Prepare for Frequent Lightning

Lightning frequency increases dramatically as the apocalypse worsens—up to 32x more common at extreme phases. Lightning can ignite blocks, damage mobs, and kill you instantly. Stay underground during storms and avoid tall structures that attract strikes.

Build Lightning-Safe Shelters

Create deep underground bunkers with multiple layers of blocks between you and the surface. Avoid standing near tall pillars, trees, or metal blocks during storms. Enclosed spaces with low ceilings are safest.

Monitor the Heat Overlay

The mod displays a heat layer overlay and dense fog to show dangerous zones. Use these visual cues to identify safe areas. Red or intense heat indicates extreme danger—retreat immediately.

Consider Endgame Relocation

If your world becomes uninhabitable, prepare an underground megabase or migrate to the Nether, where the apocalypse mechanics don't apply.
