Keep Your Crops and Farm Alive

Move Farms Underground Immediately

On Day 3+, grass and mycelium exposed to sunlight turn to dirt, destroying your farm's foundation. Build your crop farm in a cave, basement, or deep underground chamber where sunlight never reaches. This is your most critical early-game task.

Use Artificial Lighting

Crops need light to grow, but not sunlight. Place torches, lanterns, or other light sources around your underground farm. Ensure each crop block receives adequate light levels (typically 8 or higher) to continue growing normally.

Protect Mycelium Farms

If you're farming mushrooms, mycelium blocks will turn to dirt in daylight starting Day 3. Move your mushroom farm underground or build a fully enclosed structure with a roof thick enough to block all sunlight.

Consider Hydration

Water evaporates in daylight on Day 5+. If your farm relies on water channels or hydration mechanics, either move it underground or create a covered irrigation system. Underground water sources remain stable and safe.
