Decorating Your Tent and Campsite for Winter Builds
Choosing a Location
Tents look best on level snow or packed ice near a landmark — a frozen lake, a spruce forest edge, or a mountain overlook. Clear a small footprint of snow so the tent sits flush, then frame the entrance with a path of stone or spruce planks leading up to it.
Interior Furnishing
Inside the tent you have limited floor space, so prioritize function. A bed in one corner, a chest beside it, and a crafting table or furnace against the wall covers the essentials. Use a lantern or soul lantern hanging from the ceiling for warm light without taking up floor space. A small carpet or wool block can act as a rug to break up the plain floor.
Exterior Campsite Details
Outside, build a campfire ring using cobblestone or stone bricks, and place a couple of log seats around it. Add a fence post with a lantern on top as a marker so you can find camp in a snowstorm. Stack a few barrels or a hay bale nearby for storage and decoration. If you have multiple tents, arrange them in a semicircle around the campfire to create a believable campsite. Keep the palette limited to spruce, stone, wool, and iron so everything reads as a cohesive winter settlement rather than a random scatter of blocks.
