How to Tell If the Small Shield & Totem Pack Is Actually Active

The fastest test is to hold a shield in your offhand and look at it in first-person. With the pack active, the shield model is visibly more compact than the default bulky version. Equip a totem of undying and look at it in your hand — it should also appear smaller.

Step-by-Step Verification

1. Open Options → Resource Packs and confirm the pack sits in the Selected column, not the Available column.

2. Check that no other pack above it also edits shield or totem textures, which could mask the change.

3. Switch to third-person view (F5) and inspect the shield on your character's arm — the reduced size should be obvious from behind.

4. If you still see the vanilla size, move the pack to the very top of the list and click Done to reload.

Troubleshooting

If the pack refuses to apply, make sure the file is still a .zip and was not extracted into a folder. A folder inside resourcepacks will not load. Also confirm the pack is compatible with your current game version, since resource pack formats change between major updates. When in doubt, remove other packs temporarily to isolate the issue.
