How to Reduce Screen Clutter During Combat With This Pack

Why the Default Shield Blocks Your View

In vanilla, a raised shield and an active totem take up a large portion of the screen, especially in first-person. During fights this can hide incoming mobs, projectiles, or terrain. This pack shrinks those textures so more of the world stays visible.

Practical Combat Tips

1. Apply the pack and enter a fight with a shield equipped in your offhand.

2. Raise the shield by holding right-click — notice how much less of the screen is covered compared to before.

3. Keep a totem in your main or offhand and trigger it to confirm the smaller totem pop-up no longer dominates your view.

4. Combine this with lowering your FOV slightly if you still feel cramped, though the pack alone usually frees up enough space.

Getting the Most Out of It

The benefit is largest in tight spaces like caves, nether corridors, and pillager raids where enemies approach from multiple angles. Because the pack does not alter mechanics, your blocking and totem-saving behavior works exactly as before — you simply see more while it happens. Pair it with a minimal HUD pack for an even cleaner combat screen.
