How to Tame and Ride the Horses Inside a Stable

Prepare Before Mounting

Grab the treats from the stable chest first. Treats speed up taming and make the process far less frustrating than bare-handed attempts. You do not need armor or a weapon for this — just patience and a clear space.

Taming Step by Step

1. Approach a horse slowly so it does not spook.

2. Feed it a treat. Repeat a few times to build trust.

3. Mount the horse with an empty hand. It will likely throw you off.

4. Remount and repeat. Each attempt increases the chance it accepts you.

5. When hearts appear and it stops bucking, the horse is tamed.

Saddling and Riding

With the horse tamed, open its inventory (sneak-use or right-click depending on your setup) and place the saddle from the chest into the saddle slot. Now you can mount and steer freely. If you want to bring the second horse along, tame it the same way and lead it. Remember that a tamed horse still needs a saddle to be ridden — taming alone is not enough. Keep treats on hand for future breeding or healing.
