How to Use Slimes as Item Transport in SlimyBoyos
Turning Slimes into Movers
Because a slime carries one item and drops it on death, you can use slimes to move a single item from one place to another. This is slower than hoppers but works anywhere a slime can walk.
1. Build a path or tunnel between your pickup point and your drop-off point. Slimes bounce, so keep the floor flat and the walls high enough that they cannot hop out.
2. Drop the item you want moved at the start of the path. The slime absorbs it.
3. Lure or push the slime along the path to the destination. You can nudge it by walking into it or use water streams to drift it forward.
4. Kill the slime at the destination so the item drops where you want it.
Making It Reliable
A single slime moves one item per trip, so this suits low-volume jobs like bringing a rare drop home or feeding a single machine. To scale up, run several slimes in parallel lanes so multiple items travel at once. Keep lanes separated so slimes do not merge or block each other. Avoid tight corners where slimes get stuck, and never route a lane over magma, fire, or voids. If you want hands-off transport, combine this with water channels that carry the slime to a killing point, such as a drop or a blade trap, so the item is released automatically at the far end.
