How to Retrieve the Item a Slime Is Carrying

Killing the Slime to Get Your Item Back

The whole point of SlimyBoyos is that the carried item comes back when the slime dies. Retrieving it is straightforward, but a few details matter.

1. Kill the slime with any weapon, bow, or even your bare hands. The carried item drops on death just like the slimeballs do.

2. Pick up the dropped item before it despawns. Dropped items still follow normal despawn rules, so do not walk away and come back much later.

3. If the slime splits when killed, deal with the smaller slimes too. Only the slime that actually swallowed the item is holding it, so check which one drops your item.

Avoiding Lost Items

Do not let a carrying slime wander into lava, a cactus, or off a cliff, because the item can be destroyed along with the slime. Keep carrying slimes contained with walls, fences, or a pit so they cannot escape. If you are using a slime as a portable container, kill it somewhere safe and flat so the drop is easy to grab. In multiplayer, make sure no one else kills your slime first, since whoever picks up the drop keeps it. If you need the item urgently, corner the slime against a wall before attacking so it cannot bounce away mid-fight.
