How to Use Blade Special Abilities and Charge Attacks
Every blade in the addon pack has its own combat identity, and the difference between a blade that feels weak and one that feels strong is almost always whether you are using its special ability correctly. The base SlashBlade system handles the shared mechanics, and the addon blades plug their own effects into that system.
Basic attack flow
Hold the blade and left-click to swing normally. The base mod tracks your combo and charge state, so chaining hits builds toward stronger strikes. Right-clicking performs the blade's ranged or special action, which for many addon blades is a projectile slash or a dash. Watch the blade's charge indicator in the HUD; releasing a fully charged attack does far more damage than spamming clicks.
Blade-specific abilities
Each named sword has a unique effect. Some apply status effects on hit, some fire elemental projectiles, and some have a special move triggered by a keybind or by a specific input combination. Read the item tooltip carefully, because it lists the blade's ability and often the input needed to trigger it.
If an ability seems to do nothing, confirm the blade is actually the addon version and not a plain base blade, and check your keybind conflicts in the controls menu. Abilities that scale with charge will feel useless if you never let the blade charge.
